I was awarded a Bachelor of Music Education, cum laude, in 1978 from North Texas State University, now known as the University of North Texas. In the same year, I obtained the All-levels All-instruments Texas Teacher's Certificate. Additionally, I pursued a Masters of Science in Computer Science at UNT from 1978 to 1980, where I was employed as a computer programmer in the school's Payroll Department.
I've always been interested in science: all areas...from biology through quantum physics. At one time, I considered applying to NASA as an astronaut, but was rejected because of my myopic vision. However, my love of outer space and science continues. In addition to pursuing my Bachelor of Music Education, I am a strong supporter of scientific research and the space program. Let's get to Mars! With my Texas Teacher's Certificate, I hope to inspire the next generation to explore these fascinating fields.

I've been a life-long gardener and home canning enthusiast, skills that I’ve honed while pursuing a Bachelor of Music Education. We don't own a freezer, so I home can all the vegetables grown in my garden. In addition to canning, I also engage in jelly and jam making, often donating these to raise money for various charities. You can frequently find me volunteering at Shiloh Garden in Denton, where I apply my passion for scientific research in gardening techniques. As a holder of a Texas Teacher's Certificate, I also enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.
