Stained glass businesses
For 30 years I've worked full-time in the stained glass industry. What started as a small one-person stained glass studio in the basement of my home in Pennsylvania grew to a five-person crew in Denton, Texas. Art Glass Ensembles (and later, North Wind Studio) was a Professional Accredited stained glass studio, and a member of the Stained Glass Association of America. We provided services to churches, businesses, and private home throughout the USA. Our services included design, construction, installation, repair, and restoration of stained glass art, as well as Public Artwork.
Christie's work in the Computer Industry
Before becoming a stained glass artist, Christie was involved in the computer industry for 23 years. She worked most of that time as a Product Development & Marketing Manager for Unisys Corporation. Her association with their LINC development product, lead to her being stationed in Christchurch, New Zealand for 2 years, at the LINC Development Centre. She originally started her computer career as a programmer at the University of North Texas in their payroll department.
Christie's Music Career
Christie started her music career early - at age 15, as the 3rd flute/piccolo player with the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. When she returned from her studies at UNT, she also returned to performing with the Shreveport Symphony and other area orchestras. She has always played music; both classical and jazz. She currently plays woodwind instruments for Theatre Denton's orchestra for their musicals, and plays bari saxophone with the Denton New Horizon Band. She sings with First United Methodist Church of Denton's choir, and was in the Dallas Symphony Chorus for years.
Civic Engagement
Christie volunteers as a Grant Writer for Friends of Shiloh Garden-Shiloh Field in Denton, Texas. You can find her working in the urban farm at least 2 mornings a week, year round.
She was a volunteer on the City of Denton's Human Services Advisory Committee for 7 years.
Since 2016 she has been an Election Judge for Denton County; helping run elections in Denton, Justin, and Crossroads, Texas. And she has been a Precinct Chair for the Denton County Democratic Party since 2016.
